Trial-to-Demo Conversion Rate
Percentage of free trial sign-ups who also book a sales demo (product-led + sales-assisted motion)
What is Trial-to-Demo Conversion Rate?
Trial-to-demo conversion rate is the percentage of software trial sign-ups that go on to book a demo. It shows how many self-serve users want to speak to sales.
For software companies mixing self-serve trials with sales-led selling, the rate shows how well trials produce sales conversations.

How to calculate it
Divide the number of demo bookings from trial users by the total number of trial sign-ups, and multiply by 100.
For example, if 1,000 people started a trial and 90 booked a demo, the rate is (90 / 1,000) x 100 = 9%.
Use a fixed window after sign-up, and consider segmenting by company size, since larger companies are more likely to want a demo.
