Inventory Record Accuracy
Percentage of inventory records that match physical stock counts
What is Inventory Record Accuracy?
Inventory record accuracy is the percentage of counted stock items whose physical quantity matches the system record. It shows how much the inventory data can be trusted.
Inaccurate records cause stock-outs, over-ordering and wasted time, so accuracy is fundamental to good supply chain management.

How to calculate it
Divide the number of stock-keeping unit (SKU) counts matching the records by the total number of SKUs counted, and multiply by 100.
For example, if 940 of 1,000 SKUs counted matched the system, accuracy is 94%.
Decide on a tolerance, such as exact match or within a small margin, and use cycle counting to check items regularly.
