ABM Pipeline Contribution
Percentage of total sales pipeline value originating from ABM-targeted accounts
What is ABM Pipeline Contribution?
Account-based marketing (ABM) pipeline contribution is the share of total sales pipeline that comes from the accounts an ABM programme is targeting. It shows how much of the business's future revenue depends on the accounts marketing has chosen to focus on.
It is a leading indicator of whether a focused, account-led approach is paying off compared with broader lead generation.

- (Pipeline value from ABM target accounts / Total pipeline value) × 100
How to calculate it
Divide the pipeline value from ABM target accounts by the total pipeline value, and multiply by 100.
For example, if total pipeline is 5,000,000 and 1,750,000 of it comes from target accounts, the contribution is (1,750,000 / 5,000,000) x 100 = 35%.
Use the target list as it stood when the programme began, so accounts are not added retrospectively to flatter the figure.
Where it is used
Judging programme impact
See whether the chosen accounts are producing a meaningful share of pipeline.
Setting ABM targets
Agree the share of pipeline the programme is expected to deliver.
Deciding where to invest
Compare with other lead sources to decide whether to expand or trim the programme.
How to improve it
Tips and common mistakes
- Pipeline is not revenue. Read it with win rate and deal size.
- A few very large opportunities can dominate the share. Look at the count too.
- Give programmes time. Account-based pipeline builds over a full sales cycle.
