Unique Website Visitors
Number of distinct individuals visiting the website in a period
What is Unique Website Visitors?
Unique website visitors is the number of distinct people or devices that visited a site in a period. Unlike sessions, each visitor is counted once however many times they return.
It shows the size of the audience a website reaches. It is a basic measure of reach and awareness, and the starting point for judging how many of those visitors go on to engage or buy.

How to calculate it
Count the distinct visitor identifiers recorded by your analytics platform during the period.
For example, if analytics recorded 25,000 unique visitor IDs in a month, that is your unique visitor count.
Be aware that visitors are identified by cookies or device signals, so one person using two devices may be counted twice, and privacy settings can hide some visitors. Treat it as a good estimate and use the same tool and method over time.

- Bot and spam traffic can inflate the count. Filter it out where your tool allows.
- Compare periods of the same length, since unique counts grow with the period.
