Benefits Realisation Rate
Percentage of planned benefits from strategic investments realised by defined milestones
What is Benefits Realisation Rate?
Benefits realisation rate is the percentage of planned benefits from a project or programme that have actually been achieved. It shows whether the change delivered the value it promised.
Many projects finish on time and on budget but fail to deliver benefits, so this measure focuses on results rather than activity.

How to calculate it
Divide benefits realised to date by total planned benefits, and multiply by 100.
For example, if a programme planned 5,000,000 of annual savings and 3,000,000 have been achieved, the rate is 60%.
Agree how each benefit will be measured and who owns it at the start, and keep tracking after the project ends, since benefits often arrive later.
