Units per Transaction (UPT)
Average number of items purchased per customer visit
What is Units per Transaction (UPT)?
Units per transaction is the average number of items customers buy in each purchase. It shows how well a retailer encourages customers to buy more than one thing.
A higher figure often means stronger cross-selling and better product presentation.

How to calculate it
Divide total units sold by the number of transactions.
For example, if a store sold 25,000 units in 10,000 transactions, UPT is 2.5.
Compare by store and category, and read with basket size, since more units at low prices may not raise revenue much.
