How to calculate it
Divide total revenue by marketing full-time equivalent (FTE) headcount.
For example, if revenue is 30,000,000 and the marketing team is 15 FTEs, the figure is 30,000,000 / 15 = 2,000,000 per person.
Remember it uses total revenue, not marketing-generated revenue, so it is a blunt measure. Compare against your own history and similar companies.
