Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Index
Composite measure of workforce diversity across gender, ethnicity, and other protected characteristics at various levels of the organisation
What is Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Index?
Diversity and inclusion index shows how far the workforce represents target groups at each organisational level, compared with defined targets or external benchmarks. It gives a structured view of progress on representation.
Representation at senior levels, not just overall, shows whether opportunities are open to everyone.

How to calculate it
For each level, measure the percentage representation of the target groups and compare it with the target or benchmark.
For example, if a target is 40% women at senior level and the current figure is 32%, the level is at 80% of target.
Define groups and targets carefully and lawfully, collect data voluntarily and confidentially, and combine with inclusion measures from surveys.
