Board Meeting Attendance Rate
Percentage of board members attending scheduled trustee meetings, indicating governance engagement
What is Board Meeting Attendance Rate?
Board meeting attendance rate is the percentage of possible trustee attendances across all board meetings that were actually attended. It shows how engaged board members are.
A board can only govern well if its members turn up, so attendance is a simple indicator of commitment.

How to calculate it
Divide trustee attendances by total possible attendances across all meetings, and multiply by 100.
For example, if 8 trustees were expected at each of 6 meetings, there are 48 possible attendances, and if 43 took place, the rate is (43 / 48) x 100 = 90%.
Include participation by video, and look at individuals' attendance as well as the overall figure.
